Virginian Pilot December 9. 1985 

Marion Thomas Smith, 87, a native of Lynchburg and the widow of William Edward 
Smith Sr., died Sunday in a nursing home.
She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and its Adult Fellowship 
Bible Class.
Survivors include a son, George G. Smith of Virginia Beach; seven grandchildren 
and seven great-grandchildren.
The graveside funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Elmwood Cemetery by 
the Rev. James L. Duley. The family will be at Cox Funeral Home from 7 to 8 p.m. 
today.
