She was for many years a consistent member of McKendree M.E. Church. Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, J.H. Smith; one son, W.E. Smith; two brothers and one sister, Mrs. R.S. Litchfield, of Knotts Island, N.C. Funeral arrangements had not been announced last night. **************************************************************** The funeral of Mrs. Josephine Smith, wife of J.H. Smith, took place at 3 o'clock yesterday afternoon at McKendree M.E. Church and was largely attended. The services were conducted by Rev. T.R. Reeves, pastor of the church. There were beautiful floral tributes. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery. The pallbearers were T.O. Savage, J.E. Etheridge, J.T. Stanton, G.T. Williamson, T.G. Broughton, Willis Watkins, O. L. Shipp and E.L. Whitehurst.
