NORFOLK - Julius Smith of 737 Lanvale St., the husband of Mrs. Sadie Smith and a 
native of Jacksonville, N.C., died Monday in a hospital.

Other survivors include a daughter. Mrs. Gloria Austin, and two sons, Randy 
Walker and Julius Walker, all of Norfolk; six sisters, Mrs. Mattie Brown and 
Mrs. Frances Pearson of Norfolk, Mrs. Pearlie Mae Rucker, Mrs. Linda Warren, and 
Mrs. Janie Howard of Jacksonville, and Miss Annie Marie Smith and Miss Connie 
Smith of Los Angeles; five brothers, Samuel L. Smith and Sylvester Smith of 
Norfolk, William Smith of Newark, N.J., Willie Smith of Jacksonville, and Ruben 
Smith of Los Angles; and four grandchildren.

A funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in Graves Funeral Home Chapel by the 
Rev. J.L. Kearney. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. The family will assemble 
at 3588 Ladd Ave., Ingleside, home of a brother.
