Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Sunday, January 3, 1993
Henderson Smith of the 2800 block of Woodland Ave., a retired fuel operator, 
died Dec. 31, 1992, in a local hospital. 

Mr. Smith was born in Norfolk and retired from the Naval Supply Center. He was a 
member of First Baptist Church, South Portsmouth. 

Survivors include his wife, Delores R. Smith; a daughter, Delores Wyche of 
Salisbury, Md.; a son, Lawrence A. Owes of Wilmington, Del.; a stepmother, 
Gladys Smith of Elford, N.Y.; two sisters, Missouri Leach of Elford and Emma 
Walker of Phoenix, Ariz.; two brothers, Cary Smith of Westchester, N.Y., and 
Marty Smith of Fairfax, Va.; and five grandchildren. 

A funeral will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in First Baptist Church, 
South Portsmouth, by the Rev. Warren Amlet. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . 
The family will receive friends at Hale Funeral Home from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. 
The body will be taken to the church at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
