Norfolk Virginian Pilot Monday December 16, 1940


R. Worthington Smith, for many years a resident of Princess Anne County and 
Norfolk, died yesterday at Staunton after a long illness. He was about 65 
years old, and was a son of the late R. Worthington and Mrs. Lucretia Johnson 
Smith. He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Howell C. Lewis, of Charlottesville, 
and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at the grave in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, 
tomorrow afternoon at 2:30 o'clock.
