Norfolk-Funeral rites were held Sunday for William Henry Smith of 827 Smith
street at First Church of Christ Holiness.  He died June 6 in a local hospital
after a short illness.

A native of West Virginia, he lived here most of his life.  He was the husband
of the late Mrs. Mary E. Smith and a son of the late William A. and Mrs. Lucinda
A. Smith.

Mr. Smith was a retired truck driver and worked 55 years for Oakwood Coal and
Supply Company.  He was a trustee of First Church.

Surviving are two sons, Roosevelt Smith and James H. Smith;  two daughters, Miss
Gloria Smith and Mrs. Inez Outlear, all of Norfolk;  five grandchildren;  eight
great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Interment was in Calvary Cemetery with Hale Funeral Home in charge of
arrangements.
