Virginian Pilot Tuesday, April 22,1980
Norfolk - Ms. Hattie M. Smith of 834 Wide St., a daughter of Mrs. Hazel C. Smith
and a native of Norfolk, died Sunday in a hospital.

Ms. Smith, a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, was a freshman at
Norfolk State University.  She was a member of New Calvary Baptist Church and
its Junior Usher Board.

Other survivors include her grandmother, Mrs. Gladys Cooper of Windsor, NC;  a
son, Marvin Terrell Smith of Norfolk;  two sisters, Mrs. Patricia Coward of
Chesapeake and Ms. Sheila Smith of Virginia Beach;  three brothers, Louis Smith
Jr. of Chesapeake, Reginald Smith of Norfolk, and Elwood Reed of Virginia Beach;
 and aunts and uncles.

A funeral will be held Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. in New Calvary Baptist Church by
Dr. M. L. Reid and Pastor Oliver Webb.  Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery with
Graves Funeral Home in charge.  The body will be in the church at 11 a.m.
Wednesday.
