Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, October 17, 2001 
NORFOLK - Emma Smith of the 500 block of W. 28th St. died Oct. 14, 2001 in
Thornton Hall Nursing Facility.

Grandma Emma was born in Rosemont County, Va. She was a homemaker, a dietary
aide for Norfolk Community Hospital and a Baptist.

Survivors include a sister, Gladys Green of Norfolk; seven grandchildren,
Rosalyn, Keisha, Larry, Barry, Cameron, Amin and Omar; seven
great-grandchildren, Sheronda, Dominic, Anthony, Adell, Carla, Carl and Kenee';
four great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.< A
funeral will be at noon Friday in Carlos A. Howard Funeral Home Chapel by Bishop
Anthony E. Moses. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The remains will be ready
for viewing from 3:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday. The family will assemble at 2770
McKann Ave., at 11 a.m. for the procession.
