Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, October 7, 1997 
Ernest Smith, 46, of the 1000 block of Godfrey Ave. died Oct. 3, 1997.

Born in Norfolk, he was a former employee of Pabst Brewery Co. He was
predeceased by his parents, Clara and Willie Lee Smith.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Smith; seven daughters, Kathy M. Wilson,
Alvita Wilson, Annetta Wilson, Clara Wilson, Vanessa Wilson, Marvette Norman,
and Antionette Lyons, all of Norfolk; two sons, Ernest Wilson and Shawn Norman,
both of Norfolk; 17 sisters; 10 brothers; 12 grandchildren; and a stepfather,
Ernest Ruffin of Boston, Mass.

A funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Mt. Hermon Christ Disciples Church by
the Rev. Joseph Daniels. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will
receive friends at the residence. Graves Funeral Home is in charge.
