Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Thursday, June 13, 2002 
Minnie E. Smith, 96, formerly of the 1000 block of Hugo St., quietly and
peacefully passed away June 11, 2002. She was a native of Norfolk born to the
late James E. and Mamie Caldwell Smith.

She was a very dedicated teacher in the Norfolk Public School System for more
than 30 years until her retirement and was a faithful member of Shiloh Baptist
Church, Norfolk.

She leaves to cherish her memory one sole surviving sister, Vivian S. Bond of
Jamaica, Long Island, N.Y.; and a host of nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.

A funeral will be held Friday at noon in Shiloh Baptist Church by the Rev. Dr.
John H. Foster. A viewing will be held today from 2 to 8 p.m. at Riddick Funeral
Service where the family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m Interment will be
at Calvary Cemetery .
