R. Worthy Smith, a native of Norfolk, died at the Norfolk Protestant Hospital Tuesday night at 9 o'clock, in the 68th year of her age. Before her marriage Mrs. Smith was a Miss Johnson. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Howell C. Lewis, of Charlottesville, Va. and Mrs. R.O. Bitler, wife of Commander Bitler, of the ordnance department at this navy yard, and one son, R. Worthy Smith. She is also survived by a brother, Capt. John T. Johnson and a sister, Mrs. A.T. Herbert. The funeral services will be held privately at the residence of Commander Bitler, in the navy yard, and the interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk. *************** SMITH - At Norfolk Protestant Hospital, Tuesday, July 21, 1908, LUCRETIA NASH SMITH, wife of the late Robert Worthington Smith, in the 69th year of her age. Bitler, Norfolk Navy Yard, THIS (Thursday) AFTERNOON at 5:30 o'clock. ************************************************************************** The funeral of Mrs. Lucretia Nash Smith, wife of the late Robert Worthington Smith of Norfolk, was held yesterday afternoon at 5:30 o'clock at the home of her son-in-law, Commander R.O. Bitler, U.S.N., at the navy yard, Rev. A.C. Thompson of Trinity Episcopal Church, Portsmouth, officiating. The floral tributes were numerous and beautiful. The interment was in Elmwood Cemetery, Norfolk, with the following pallbearers: Honorary - F.E.Wilcox, J. Gray Reid, Nathaniel Beaman, Norman Mell, Walter Sharp. James F. Reid. C.F.
