Funeral services were conducted at Shiloh Baptist Church Tuesday for Mrs. Alice
Smith, 61, of 2607 Middle avenue. The Rev. W H. Hamilton officiated and burial
was in Calvary Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith, a retired beautician, had been a patient in a Norfolk hospital since
Oct. 21 and had been in a semi-conscious state for most of that time. She died
early last Sunday morning.

She was a member of the Bloom of Youth Lodge No. 194 and Courts of Calanthe. She
was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church and the Sunday School of the church.

She is survived by one brother, Miles M. Young; two nieces and three nephews.

B. F. King Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
