Antonio J. Smith, husband of Mrs. S. Contesse Seawall Smith and youngest son of 
the late Peter and Mrs. Mary Franco Smith, died yesterday morning at 5:25 o’clock 
at a local hospital. Mr. Smith, a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, was a 
graduate of Georgetown University and law school, and studied law also at the 
University of Virginia.
At the time of his death, he was chairman of the board of directors of the James 
Barr y Robinson Home. Mr. Smith is survived by his wife, two brothers, Clarence J. 
and E. Vincent Smith; three sisters, the Misses Mary M., Constance A. and Rosa E. 
Smith, all of Norfolk; a nephew, Lieut. X. Martin Smith, and a niece, Miss Dorothy 
M. Smith, both of Los Angeles, Calif.
The body will be taken from the residence, 408 West Bute street, to Sacred Heart 
Catholic Church for funeral services Thursday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment 
will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Rosary services will be held at the residence 
Wednesday night at 8 o’clock.
