Her funeral was held Sunday, May 9, at Garrett’s Temple, of which the deceased was a faithful member. Her pastor, Rev. R. K. D. Garrett, beautifully eulogized the life of the deceased. Mrs. Perkins sweetly sang, “Waiting For Me.” Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Ruth McCoy and Mrs. Nancy Cornick; one adopted daughter, Miss Lovey Nixon and an adopted son, Walter Malone, one son-in-law, and nine grand children, all of Norfolk; one brother, Isaiah Benson, of Jamaica,L.I. Her remains were laid to rest in Calvary Cemetery.
