The Norfolk Virginian Pilot March 28, 1936


Herman G. Smith, aged 72 years, son of the late Eller D. and Anna Ward Smith, 
died at 1 o’clock yesterday morning at the residence, 1535 West Ocean View 
Avenue. Mr. Smith, a native and lifelong resident of Norfolk, was an electrical 
contractor, and a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. He is survived by two 
sisters, Mrs. Alfred L. Belfield and Miss Julia E. Smith, both of Norfolk, and 
one brother, Lewis Van R. Smith, of Atlanta, Ga., and a number of nieces and 
nephews. Funeral services will be held at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Ocean 
View, this morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
