Mr. Fenley Smith departed this life Thursday morning, Dec. 19,1929 at his home 
826 Wood Street after a brief illness. He was a native of South Hill, VA, 
Mecklinberg County. He leaves grieving for him, his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Smith; 
two sisters, Miss Frances Smith and Mrs. Puss Walker; one brother, Mr. William 
Smith; all of South Hill, VA.

The funeral services for Smith were held Sunday, Dec. 22 at his home at 3:30 
p.m. Rev. C. P. Madison officiated. The body was laid to rest in the Calvary 
Cemetery.

Mr. Smith was thirty eight years old and besides his immediate family had a host 
of friends who find his death a hardship.
