The funeral of Mrs. Hattie W. Smith, 58, of 860 Washington Ave., was held from the 
First Baptist Church with the Rev. R. H. Bowling officiating on Thursday of this 
week. She died at her home on Tuesday. She was a native of Hertford, NC, and she 
had lived here since early childhood. She is survived by her husband, David Smith. 
She was buried in Calvary Cemetery.
