She was a native of Norfolk and the daughter of John and Mary Frances Reily. She was the widow of Henry Smith. A longtime resident of the Douglas Park section of Norfolk, she was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. At Bethlehem she had served the church in many capacities including the Pastors Aide Society and Missionary Circle. She was a deaconess and Mother of the Church. Mrs. Smith touched many lives during her lifetime and will be remembered for her kindness, wisdom and genteelness. She leaves to cherish her precious memory daughters, Marjorie E. Perry and Veronica E. Melcor; a son, Joseph E. Woodhouse and a host of grandchildren; great-grandchildren; great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins, in- laws and friends. She was predeceased by her first husband, Frank Woodhouse Sr.; sons, Frank Woodhouse Jr., James Woodhouse and Robert Woodhouse; and a daughter, Ruth McCoy. A funeral will be held Monday at noon in Bethlehem Baptist Church, Marshall Avenue and Link Street, with the Rev. T.B. Washington officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Viewing will be Sunday from 1 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home. The family will receive friends at Riddick Funeral Service Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. www.riddickfuneralsvc.com.
