Booker T. Smith of the 900 block of Whitehurst Landing Road, died March 5, 2004. 
He was born in Princess Anne County and was retired from the Norfolk Naval 
Shipyard. He was a member of New Light Baptist Church, Virginia Beach, and the 
Deacon Ministry. 

Survivors include his wife, Lenora Smith of Virginia Beach; a daughter, Adelle 
Merritt and husband V. Bernard of Massachusetts; adopted daughter, Mary Ann 
Bryant of Virginia Beach; a son, Arnold M. Smith of Virginia Beach; two sisters, 
Mary Smith of Chesapeake and Louise Oakley of Washington, D.C.; six 
grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other 
relatives and friends. 

A funeral will be conducted at noon Wednesday in New Light Baptist Church, 
Virginia Beach, by Bishop Rudolph B. Lewis. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery , 
Norfolk. A wake will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday. Community Funeral Home, 
Norfolk, is in charge.
