Berkley - Funeral services for Mrs. Minnie Downing Smith, who died at her home 
Wednesday morning, April 18, after a short illness, were held Sunday from the 
New Central Baptist Church with the Rev. J. N. Fuller officiating, assisted by 
the Rev. Joseph Hoggard, the Rev. Rosa Sawyer, and Rev. Mr. Wynn. During the 
services, musical selections were rendered by the senior choir, of which she was 
a member, and several friends. Mrs. Smith was preceded in death ten months by 
her husband, Webster Smith.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Corrine Hopkins; son, Clyde Downing, USA, 
stationed overseas, and two brothers.

Interment was in the Mt. Olive Cemetery with the Wheeler Funeral Home in charge.
