Smithson, which occurred Saturday evening at 9:40 o'clock at Colorado Springs, Col., where he had gone three months ago for his health. He was 36 years old. Before being stricken he was employed in the navy yard. In addition to his widow he is survived by his widowed father, L.L. Smithson, South Norfolk; and a sister, Mrs. Emma Bunch, Kinston, N.C. The body will arrive here the latter part of the week for funeral and burial. ********************************************************************** The funerals of Miles G. Smithson and his son, Hollice Orrmond Smithson, will take place at the residence of the grandparents of the child's mother, Mr. and Mrs. Frank A. Pierce, 611 Liberty street, this afternoon at 3 o'clock. The bodies will be interred in the same grave in Magnolia Cemetery. Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark January 18, 1913 Double Funeral The funerals of Miles G. Smithson and son, H. Orrman Smithson, husband and son of Mrs. Elnora Robert Smithson, took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Pierce, 611 Liberty street, yesterday afternoon and were largely attended. Rev. W.R. Flannigan, the new pastor of the Berkley Avenue Baptist Church, conducted the service and burial was in Magnolia Cemetery. The body of the little son was tucked in the arms of his dead father, and they were buried together in one casket. The pallbearers were Henry White, W.H. Gregory, G.A. Harding, J.E. Ricketts, L. Nelson, Geo. R. Brickey, J.A. King and L.W. Morgan.
