Rebecca J. Smith-Wilson, (formerly Egerton) departed this life to glory on April 
27, 2023. The youngest child of Mary Alice Boomer Egerton, was born in Norfolk. 
She attended BTW High School & obtained her associates degree in Business 
Management from TCC. She retired from Norfolk Public Schools after 25 years of 
service & was a faithful member & church mother of Breaking of Day Ministries 
with Pastor Eddie & Elect Lady Sharon Sivells of Berkley.

Rebecca is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond E. Wilson Sr, sons Neil 
Wilson & David Egerton, & mother, Mary Boomer Egerton.

She leaves to cherish her memories Raymond Wilson Jr (Shon) of Norfolk, Dexter 
Wilson (Cynthia) & Gwendolyn Hagins (Kevin) both of Chesapeake, & Darrell Smith 
of Durham, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren 
& a host of nieces, nephews, & cousins.

A homegoing service will be held at Olive Grove Baptist Church, 1034 Albert Ave, 
Norfolk, VA at 12 p.m.; Viewing will begin at 10 a.m.
