Norfolk Virginian April 18, 1896
SMOTHERS – At the residence of parents, Pocahontas avenue, Lambert’s Point, 
Friday, April 17, 1896, at 3 o’clock p.m., GEORGE T., only child of Thomas S. and 
Minnie A. Smothers, aged 3 months.
Funeral from above residence THIS (Saturday) AFTERNOON at 3 o’clock.


Additional Comments:
There is a discrepancy between the date of death in the newspaper (17 April) and 
that in the Virginia Deaths and Burials Index (15 April).
