Virginian Pilot and The Norfolk Landmark June 18. 1926

Mrs. Grace DeJarnette Snelling, aged 31, wife of William Morton Snelling and 
daughter of Lucretia Armstrong and the late Robert E. DeJarnette, died yesterday 
morning at 1 o'clock at Saranac Lake, N.Y. She was a resident of Greenville, 
S.C., but formerly was a well-known resident of Norfolk. Besides her husband, 
she is survived by one son, William Morton Snelling, Jr., both of Greenville; 
her mother, two sisters, Mrs. L.W. Tazewell and Mrs. Walter B. Martin, of 
Norfolk. Funeral services will be conducted at the residence of her brother-in-
law, L.W. Tazewell, Raleigh Court, corner of Raleigh Avenue and Manteo Street, 
this afternoon at 4:30 o'clock by the Rev. J.L. MacMillan, pastor of the First 
Presbyterian Church. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
