Snowden and daughter of Joseph H. and Mrs. Anne Wheadon Matthews, died in a Norfolk hospital Monday at 1:10 p.m. She is survived by eight daughters, Mrs. Catherine Chappell, Mrs. Mabel Rollason, Mrs. Sarah Floyd, Mrs. Elma McPherson, Mrs. Anne Laney, Mrs. Lil Doughty and Mrs. Lenora Privott, all of Norfolk, and Mrs. Lucy Perry of Princess Anne; a son, Charles Earl Snowden of Norfolk; a brother, Joseph H. Matthews of Salt Lake City, Utah; 30 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren. Mrs. Snowden was a native of Portsmouth, England and lived in Norfolk for 72 years, lately at 1044 Bland St. She was a member of Faith Council 26, Sons and Daughters of Liberty and a member of the Womens Missionary Society of McKendall Methodist Church. The body will be taken from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to McKendree Church, of which she was an active member, for a funeral service Wednesday at 2 p.m. The body will be in the church an hour before the service. The family will be at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mabel Rollason, 407 Beck St. Burial will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
