Donald "Sudsy" Sotherden, 68, died July 9, 2004. Born in Syracuse, N.Y., June 9, 
1936, he was the son of the late Howard and Anna Sotherden. Mr. Sotherden retired 
from the U.S. Navy with 22 years of service and later retired as an electrician 
from Newport News Shipbuilding and Dry Dock.

He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Mary L. Sotherden of Norfolk; 
daughter, Victoria "Vicki" Fuller and husband Steven of Monroe, Wash.; son, Steven 
M. Sotherden and wife Tammy of Vevay, Ind.; seven grandchildren; one sister and 
one brother.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Smith & Williams Funeral Home, 
Norfolk Chapel. Interment in St. Marys Cemetery. The family will receive friends 
at the funeral home Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial 
contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
