Mrs. Ida Southall of 1523 Colon avenue, a native of Maryland and a 50-year 
resident of Norfolk, recently was given final rites at Garrett Temple Community 
Church.

The Rev. J.S. Askew officiated and burial was in Calvary Cemetery under the 
direction of Hale Funeral Home.

A clerk employed by A. Pearlman for 35 years, Mrs. Southall was 69. She died at 
her home.

The deceased was a member of Evening Star Lodge, Daughter Elks 10A, Waldorf and 
Tree of Life Lodges.

Survivors include a son, Howard Brumbley; a daughter, Mrs. Gladys Roselle of New 
York; a sister, Mrs. Eva Fletcher of Heathville, Va.; her husband, Philip 
Southall; and a brother, Asbury Maddox of Colonia Beach.
