Southall, 62, of 510 Brewer street, and a veteran of World War 1, died at 4:15 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Veterans Hospital facility at Kecoughtan, VA. Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sept. 22 at Hale’s Funeral Chapel with the Rev. J. Jasper Freeman, D.D., pastor of Queen Street Baptist Church officiating. Mr. Southall was a native of Murfreesboro, NC, and a retired railroad worker. He was the son of the late Corprew and Mrs. Levy Myrick Southall. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary E. Southall. Interment was in the family plot at Calvary Cemetery.
