Virginian Pilot April 9, 1909
Ferdinand Harris Spear Jr., the eight-year-old son of Mr. and Mrs. F.H. Spear, 
died yesterday morning at 5 o'clock at the Lawford Hospital after a lingering 
illness of typhoid fever.
The deceased was born in Berkley and was a very bright little fellow.  The 
funeral will take place from the family residence, 127 Pendleton street, this 
morning at 11 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. T. McN. Simpson, pastor of 
Memorial M.E. Church.  Interment will be in Magnolia Cemetery.
