A native of Norfolk, he was a loyal employee of Ford Motor Co. and a U.S. Army veteran. Survivors in- clude his wife, Ruby Melcina Speller; three daughters, Janice Pearson, Stephanie Toler and Patsy Lorraine; two sons, James Vincent Speller and Curtis A. Speller; two sisters, Shirley S. Shortt and Pearl Jones; two brothers, Charles Speller and Howard Speller; a host of grandchildren; two great- grandchildren; seven in-laws, Vera Hill, Frances Lloyd, John Shortt, Earline Speller, Willie Mae Speller, Gilbert Toler and Maurice Pearson; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents. A funeral will be today at 1 p.m. in Graves Funeral Home by the Rev. Lemuel Williams. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
