Norfolk - Mrs. Ella L. Spence of 813 Park avenue died recently in a Hampton 
hospital. A native of Elizabeth City, she was the daughter of Mrs. Gertrude 
Spruill. She was a member of Garden of Prayer Church.

She is survived by a son, Thomas Spence of Norfolk; a brother, Joe Spruill 
of Elizabeth City; a siser, Mrs. Cora Wood of Clarksville; and seven 
grandchildren.

A funeral service was held in Garden of Prayer Church, 26th street by Bishop 
L. E. Willis with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Graves Funeral Home was in 
charge
