Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, August 27, 2002 
NORFOLK - Robert Lee Spence, 51, of the 500 block of Ruffner St., passed quietly
and gently into eternal rest after a lengthy illness.

A native of Norfolk, he was the son of Leroy Spence Sr. and the late Thelma
Hopkins Spence. He was the widower of Linda Spence.

In addition to his father, he is survived by sisters, Thelma L. Spence and Rosa
Evans; and brothers, Leroy Spence Jr., Alphonso Spence, Louis Spence and
Clarence Spence.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Thursday at Riddick Funeral Service. Burial
will be in Calvary Cemetery . Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the
funeral home. The family will be at his residence.
