Funeral services for Frank H. Spence were conducted at the St. John AME Church
Thursday, Aug. 13, by the Rev. W. L. Hildebrand, pastor.

Mr. Spence died at his home, 1409 Colon avenue, Sunday, August 9 after a long
illness. A native of Norfolk, he was the son of Henry and Mrs. Ella W. Spence.
He had been employed for years as custodian of the Arthur Murray studio. He was
a member of the St. John AME Church.

Surviving are two sisters, Miss Ophelia M. Spence and Mrs. Ella H. Rhodes, three
nephews and a niece, all of Norfolk.

Burial was in the family plot at West Point Cemetery. The B. F. King funeral
home was in charge of arrangements.
