Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - March 24, 1993

Dennie L. Spencer Sr., 86, of the 1300 block of Kempsville Road, a retired boat 
captain, died March 23, 1993, in Norfolk. 
Mr. Spencer was born in Princess Anne County. He was a member of Norview United 
Methodist Church, George W. Wright Masonic Lodge (NU)346 and Khedive Temple of 
the Shrine. He was the widower of Lucy Day Spencer. 
Survivors include a son, D. Leroy Spencer Jr. of Norfolk; a brother, Ted 
"Bruser" Spencer of Florida; a grandson, Johnnie L. Spencer, and a 
granddaughter, Jeannette S. Miller, both of Virginia Beach; and four great-
grandchildren. 
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, 
Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. Gerald H. Kirby. Burial will be in Forest 
Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday. 
Memorial donations may be made to Norview United Methodist Church or Squires 
Memorial Presbyterian Church.
