Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, April 10, 1991 
Harlie S. Spencer Jr., a retired civil service employee, died April 7, 1991, in
a hospital.

Mr. Spencer, a native of Rockingham, N.C., was a former resident of Norfolk.

Survivors include three daughters, Constance J. Mathis of Riverdale, Janice
Baxter of Lanham-Seabrook and Arline J. Johnson of Tennessee; two sons, Harlie
S. Spencer III of Adelphi and Thomas R. Spencer of Louisiana; 13 grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren.

The funeral will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Friday in Graves Funeral Home,
Norfolk, by the Rev. Richard A. Council. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery .
Friends may join the family at the home of Goldie Stevenson, 2900 Hollister
Ave., Norfolk.
