Norfolk - Mrs. Hattie Bell Drake Spivey, 64, of 1823 Canton avenue, Campostella, 
died in a hospital after a short illness.

A native of Spring Hope, NC, she lived here 46 years.

She was the wife of Thee Artis Spivey Sr. and a daughter of Mrs. Willie Ann 
Mills and the late Guy Drake.

She was a deaconess of First Calvary Baptist Church and a member of Female Usher 
Board 2, Ruth Tents 8, and Margaret Frances Eastern Star Chapter.

Besides her mother and husband, surviving are four sons, Thee Artis Spivey Jr., 
Threvier Artis Spivey Jr., Threvier Spivey Sr., and Reginald Spivey of Norfolk 
and Gary Spivey, daughters, Mrs. Willie Mae Harris of Norfolk and Mrs. Lula 
Thornton of Chesapeake;  21 grandchildren;  and two great-grandchildren.

A funeral service was held in First Calvary Baptist Church by the Rev. J. L.  
White.  Burial was in Calvary Cemetery.

Colden Funeral Home, Portsmouth, had charge.
