Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Friday, September 15, 2000 
Bernard Lee Spratley, 44, of the 7400 block of Hooper St., died Sept. 8, 2000,
at DePaul Medical Center. He was born in Norfolk and was a maintenance worker
with Ocean View Golf Course. Survivors include his wife, Loretta Denise
Spratley; two daughters, Charlicia Burke and Dewanda Gordany; three sons, Cecil
Bernard Burke, Adrian C. Burke and Kim Lamont Gordany, all of Norfolk; his
mother, Alease Mings; his father, Bernard Greenhill; five sisters, Mary
Spratley, Tammy Mings, Bessie Mings, Virgil Mings Butts, and Darlene Mings; two
brothers, Steven Ray Spratley and Cecil Mings Jr., all of Norfolk; four
grandchildren, Jeanette Gordany, Leon Gordany, Cliff Gordany and Sada Dudley;
and a host of cousins, uncles, aunts, in-laws, other relatives and friends. A
funeral will be conducted at noon today at Ambassadors for Christ Church, 3445
Azalea Garden Road, by Pastor Howard Wilson. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery
. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home is in charge.
