Born in Norfolk, she was a retired cashier from the Naval Air Station and a member of Oakwood Chapel Church of Christ. She was predeceased by her parents, Lucy Smith and Robert Smith. Survivors include four brothers, Herbert L. Smith, Albert Smith and William Smith, all of Norfolk, Frederick Smith of Virginia Beach; a loving niece, Joyce Sanderson; a beloved sister-in-law, Arabella Smith; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Oakwood Chapel Church of Christ by Bishop Moses Davis. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The remains will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Friday. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home is in charge.
