Mrs. Springs was a native of Hillsboro, N.C. and had been a resident of Norfolk 25 years, residing at 247 West Freemason street at the time of her death. She was a member of Epworth Methodist Church, and was active in charitable work. Surviving her are one sister, Mrs. Emma Phillips Boyd, of Norfolk; four nieces, Mrs. Charles A. Pamplin, of Reidsville, N.C.; Mrs. T.J. Gattis, of Washington, D.C.; Mrs. W.B. Valentine, of St. Louis, Mo., and Mrs. T.E. Cross, of Norfolk. Services will be conducted at the chapel of the H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, 1501 Colonial avenue, this afternoon at 4 o'clock, with the Rev. B.M. Persinger, pastor of Epworth Methodist Church; the Rev. S.K. Emurian, pastor of Coleman Place Presbyterian Church., and the Rev. Bernard Via, of Newport News, officiating. Interment will be in Elmwood Cemetery.
