Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, February 24, 1993 
Erma Spruill, 62, of the 1500 block of Hemlock St., a retired warehouseman, died
Feb. 20, 1993, in a local hospital.

Mr. Spruill was born in Scotland Neck, N.C. He was a member of Gilmerton Star
A.M.E. Zion Church, Shell Road, Chesapeake, and was a member of the Trustee
Board. He was retired from the Naval Supply Center after 37 years of service.

Survivors include his wife, Jean N. Spruill; two daughters, Betty S. Dean of
Virginia Beach and Evonne K. Bryant of Norfolk; two sons, Erma D. Spruill of
Norfolk and Daniel L. Spruill of Chesapeake; one sister, Clara Mae Haynes of
Jacksonville, Fla.; two brothers, Charlie Spruill of Richmond and Amos Spruill
of Norfolk; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was predeceased
by his mother and father, Bessie Spruill and Osie Spruill.

A funeral will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday in Gilmerton Star A.M.E. Zion
Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . The family will assemble at the
residence. Hale Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
