Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Wednesday, August 16, 1995 
Irma Dewitt Spruill, 45, of the 2800 block of Lens Ave., died Aug. 12, 1995, in
Chesapeake.

He was employed at Creecey Body Shop where he did body and fender work. He was
born in Norfolk and was a member of Gilmerton Star A.M.E. Zion Church.

He is survived by one daughter, Chandris Gibbs of Norfolk; one son, Duawn Cowell
of Norfolk; mother, Jean N. Spruill of Norfolk; two sisters, Betty S. Dean of
Virginia Beach, and Evonne K. Bryant of Norfolk; and one brother, Daniel Lee
Spruill of Chesapeake. He was preceded in death by his father, Irma D. Spruill Sr.

A funeral service will be conducted noon today by the Rev. Medis N. Cheek in
Gilmerton Star A.M.E. Zion Church, Chesapeake. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery .
The family will assemble at 2713 Cecilia Terrace. Hale Funeral Home is handling
arrangements.
