Staples, Jr., aged 33, son of Bert I. and Mamie Lawler Staples, died yesterday morning at 7 o’clock at a local hospital of pneumonia after a brief illness. He was a native of Roanoke, but had been a resident of Norfolk for the past 27 years, and was well known. Besides his parents, he is survived by three sisters, Mrs. C. G. Haesloop, Mrs. R. H. Phelps and Mrs. B R. Morton, all of Norfolk; one brother, Edward L. Staples, U.S.N., now at San Pedro, Cal., and a number of nieces and nephews. Mr. Staples was a veteran of the World War. The body will taken from the residence, 3019 St. Mihiel avenue, Fairmount Park, to St. Mary’s Catholic Church for funeral services Monday morning at 10 o’clock. Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
