The dead body of Larry Stapleton, a well-known cotton screwman, was found in an alley leading off from West Main street, apposite Mathews, about 1 o’clock this morning. Stapleton has been suffering from asthma for several months and of late has been sitting in the alley where his body was found, to get fresh air. It is thought that an attack caused his sudden death about 11 o’clock last night. Coroner Newton was notified and examined the body at 2 o’clock this morning, after which it was taken to his home, No. 86 Plume street. He leaves a wife and four children. He was 43 years of age.
