VIRGINIA BEACH - Esther Stamm Stark, 92, formerly of the 100 block of Graydon 
Ave., died December 13, 2002.
Mrs. Stark was a native of Norfolk. She was preceded in death by her husband of 
52 years, David Stark She was a 1929 graduate of Sinai Hospital School of 
Nursing in Baltimore. She was a past board member and past president of B'Nai 
Israel Congregation and its sisterhood in Norfolk. She also served her 
congregation in many ways, she originated and taught Bat Mitzvah Class from 
1953 to 1983 and was on the Chevra Kadisha for over 50 years.
Mrs. Stark was a member and past president of the Denver League, Beth Sholom 
Home and Hebrew Ladies Charity. She was a member of Hadassah and was a past 
president of the Henrietta Szold Group, Norfolk Chapter and the Regional.
Survivors include a son, Marvin Stark and his wife, Betty of New Jersey; Sandra 
Levine and her husband, Jay of Charlottesville, Rhetta Stark of Norfolk; her 
sister, Dysie Horenstein and her husband, Mike of Virginia Beach; and 
grandchildren, Beth Levine Chaitman and her husband, Cary of Chicago, Steven 
Levine and his wife, Shawnna Pledger of Charlottesville, Susan Keusenkothen and 
her husband, Mark and Laruen Stark of New York.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. today at B'Nai Israel Cemetery 
by Rabbi Yosef Friedman. The family will receive friends at 1024 Spotswood Ave. 
in Norfolk after the burial. H. D. Oliver Funeral Apts is in charge of 
arrangements.
