The Virginian Pilot July 4, 1961
Mrs. Virginia Jordan Stark, 84, widow of Thomas Stark Sr. and daughter of Davis 
Wills and Lucy Brooks Garnett Jordan, died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. 
J.M. Barner Jr., 6121 Rolfe Ave., Monday at 7 a.m.
Besides Mrs. Barner she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. E.C.C. Woods Sr., 
of Hanover; a son, Thomas Stark Jr., of Amelia; two brothers, F. Garnett Jordan 
Sr. and W. Henry Jordan of Norfolk; six grandchildren; and six great-
grandchildren.
A lifelong resident of Norfolk, she was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal 
Church.
The body will be taken from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to Elmwood Cemetery for 
a funeral service Wednesday at 2 p.m. The family has requested contributions to 
the Norfolk Chapter, American Cancer Society as expressions of sympathy.
