He owned and operated Starkey Market Stall in the Old City Market several years. Since 1933 he worked for Exchange Furniture Co. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Georgia Starkey Voorhies of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Ethel Lee Frohlich of Tulsa, Okla,; a sister, Mrs. Ethel Starkey Joynes of Norfolk; and three grandchildren. The body will be taken from Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home to Elmwood Cemetery for a funeral service Saturday at noon.
