Norfolk Virginian Pilot Monday August 16, 1943
Mrs. Birdie Mae Stengle, aged 45, of Bedford, died yesterday morning at the 
residence after a long illness.  She was the daughter of Mrs. Fannie Lane 
Pridgen and the late J.E. Pridgen.  Besides her husband, Samuel Bland Stengle, 
she is survived by one daughter, Mrs. William S. Miles, of Seattle, Wash.; one 
sister, Mrs. Nell Gordon, and one brother, W.L. Pridgen, both of Jackson, 
Miss.
The body will arrive over the Norfolk & Western Railway this morning, and will 
be removed to the Sykes Funeral Home, 124 East Berkley avenue, pending funeral 
arrangements.
