A native of Norfolk, he was an engineer for Emperial Engineer Corp., and a member of First Baptist Church Bute Street where the Rev. G. Robert Murray is pastor. He is survived by a son, Christian Jackson of Bayshore, N.Y.; mother, Christine Stepney of Norfolk; two sisters, Linda Stepney McCoy and husband Horace of Mapleville, Ill., and LaFreda Smith and husband Michael of Stafford, Va.; two brothers, Ernest Leon Stepney Jr. of Coraville, Iowa and W. Darryl Stepney of Norfolk; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his father, Ernest L. Stepney Sr.; and a sister, Deborah (Teeter) Stepney. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in St. Andrews Temple COGIC by the Rev. Glorious Doughton. A private burial will be held Monday at 10 a.m. in Calvary Cemetery . The remains will be ready for viewing Friday from 3:30 to 8 p.m. The family will assemble at the residence at 1 p.m. Saturday for the procession. Carlos A.
