Virginian-Pilot, The (Norfolk, VA) - Tuesday, February 24, 1998 
Sylvester Stepney Jr. of the 500 block of Carolina Ave. died Feb. 21, 1998, at
his residence.

Born in Norfolk, he was a retired warehouseman with the civil service and served
in the U.S. Army. Mr. Stepney was a member of Faith Tabernacle Church.

Survivors include his wife, Vivian Stepney; three daughters, Marilyn Watson,
Annette Stepney and Barbara Person; a son, Anthony Stepney; two sisters, Willie
Mae Smith and Bernice Stepney; eight grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and a
host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Thursday in Christ Cathedral C.O.G.I.C. by
Pastor Debra Jacobs. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery . Graves Funeral Home is
in charge. Friends may join the family at the residence.
