VIRGINIA BEACH - Robert James Stepnick Jr., 24, of 2207 Rockbridge Road, a 
native of Honolulu, died Saturday in a hospital. He was the son of Dr. Robert J. 
Stepnick Sr., of Merced, Calif., and Arlene K. Stepnick of Virginia Beach.
He was a loan officer at an area lending institution and played in the local 
rock band Gestalt. He was a graduate of Kempsville High School and Virginia 
Tech.
Other survivors include two sisters, Andrea Stepnick of Virginia Beach and Shari 
Stepnick of Virginia Tech; maternal grandparents, Anthony and Marion Kosinky of 
Fortescue, N.J.; and paternal grandparents, James and Frances Stepnick of 
Claridge, Pa.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be said at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Apostles 
Catholic Church by the Rev. Ray Barton. Burial will be in Colonial Grove 
Memorial Park. The family — which will be at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Indian 
River Chapel, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today — requests no flowers. Memorial 
donations may be made to the Virginia Beach Society for the Prevention of 
Cruelty to Animals.
